Steve Sloan

Steve Sloan has over 25 years of experience in the professional practices of risk management and internal audit, collaborating with management and audit committees to design and implement the infrastructures to obtain required assurances over risks and controls.  He prescribes a disciplined approach, aligning stakeholder expectations with leading practices, to maximize the return on investment in risk functions.

At RiskSpan, he is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and project methodology to direct and deliver operational, financial, and regulatory compliance risk advisory services for financial services industry clients.

His previous employers include FHLBank, Protiviti, Arthur Andersen, USSteel, and KPMG. At FHLBank, Steve was the Director of Internal Audit - Operational Risk, which included the risk areas of regulatory compliance, financial reporting, fraud, and modeling. He also was a member of the executive operational risk management committee, providing guidance to the cross-functional executive management team in developing and maintaining the operational risk management framework. With Protiviti, Arthur Andersen, and KPMG, Steve provided value-added consulting services in the areas of internal audit and all areas of risk management.

Steve is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Certified Investments and Derivatives Auditor.
