William Vahey

Bill Vahey leads RiskSpan’s services and solutions for ERM and commercial real estate. Bill is a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He possesses both value-add consulting experience and hands-on business experience in the commercial mortgage, multi-family, securitization, and real estate sectors. 
Bill possesses experience in every facet of the real estate lifecycle, from origination/structuring to underwriting, securitization, servicing and asset management, workout, foreclosure, REO, and disposition. Prior to RiskSpan, Bill was at BlackRock, where he consulted on commercial real estate analytics and loss forecasting in the CMBS sector. 
Prior to BlackRock, he was with Wells Fargo and predecessor firms Wachovia and First Union in a variety of leadership roles in the risk management, capital markets, and real estate areas. He spent eight years in the Washington, DC office of KPMG as a Senior Manager in the firm’s national Mortgage and Asset Finance Practice consulting group, providing strategic and operational advisory solutions to numerous clients across various asset classes. He is also a CPA (inactive).
At the beginning of his career Bill was a Sergeant in the United States Army and a member of the elite White House Communications Agency. Bill served during the Reagan Administration, providing secure and non-secure communications support to President Reagan, his family, and staff.
Bill holds a BS from Pennsylvania State University.
