Business Analyst
RiskSpan is seeking a high energy, results-oriented Business Analyst as a full time employee or 1099 to work in our Washington DC office and at client sites throughout the U.S. to provide analysis in support of client projects. In this role you will be involved in client specific work from the asset-backed and mortgage-backed securitization industry. The Business Analyst will be lead by the engagement Director or Managing Director on the project. The Business Analyst will be required to analyze business processes, write business requirements and develop documentation to support their work. The Business Analysis may be asked to participate in multiple engagements at one time.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide analysis in support of client projects, working closely with senior professionals from both the client and the consulting team
- Assist in the development and delivery of specific client work
- Assist with the documentation of requirements and processes
- Participate in multiple engagements and be able to meet tight client deadlines
Qualifications
Applicants should have a demonstrated ability to work with clients in solving business problems and documenting solutions. Applicant should have strong communication and writing skills and ability to work well with others. The Applicant is also expected to meet the following requirements:
- BS/BA Degree from an accredited institution Finance, Business, Mathematics, Economics; preferred Masters Degree
- 1-3 Years experience as a Business Analyst
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- 1-2 years SAS, Intex, Bloomberg, QRM Experience preferred but not required
- Strong Excel/VBA experience

Position Summary
As an Associate at RiskSpan, the candidate will be part of the Application Development team that works directly with clients to identify, build, and deliver new features for applications. The role will include development of new applications with some level of support activity for existing applications on the same platform.
Primary Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test new functionality for RiskSpan's product suite and Client application that is reliable, maintainable, and scalable.Actively participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle including define, design, development, deployment, and support and maintenance of applications.
Work closely with business partners to build and deliver software that meets their needs and requirements.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Java application development experience
- Significant experience with J2EE Web Application Development
- Full project life cycle experience on at least one major J2EE project
- Experience with Spring
- Experience with SQL and at least one major RDBMS
- Experience with an Enterprise Application Server (JBOSS, WAS, Weblogic) and one IDE (Eclipse, RAD, WSAD, NetBeans)
- Experience with at least one build tool (ANT, Maven)
- Unit testing with JUnit
- GIT (Desired)
